Heavy Rain Delays Start of East Lake Cup

ATLANTA – Heavy rain has pushed back the start of the inaugural East Lake Cup.

The match-play event pitting the four semifinalists from the men’s and women’s NCAA Championships is now scheduled to begin off split tees at 1:30 p.m. ET.

The on-site meteorologist is predicting about two inches of rain Monday at East Lake Golf Club.

Teams going off the first tee: Stanford vs. Duke women and LSU vs. Georgia men.

On the 10th tee, it’ll be Baylor vs. USC women and USC vs. Illinois.

All four team matches are not expected to conclude before the end of the day Monday. They will finish up Tuesday morning, then re-pair for the championship and consolation matches.
